RECRUITMENT TO THE POST OF UPPER DIVISION CLERK AND MULTI TASKING STAFF IN ESI CORPORATION, GUJARAT REGION

1. ESI Corporation, Gujarat Region proposes to fill up vacant posts of Upper Division Clerk and Multi Tasking Staff. For details of examination and mode of applications and other terms & conditions etc. website www.esicgujarat.org may be visited. The application is to be submitted On line. The details of the vacancies is summarized below.

   The number of vacancies is provisional and may vary. The Corporation reserves the right to fill up vacancies as per actual requirement.

For Upper Division Clerks : Out of the above, 04 vacancies have been reserved for Persons With Disability (PWD) out of which, 02 vacancies are for Orthopedically Handicapped and 02 for Hearing Impaired and 11 vacancies have been reserved for Ex-servicemen under horizontal reservation.

For Multi Tasking Staff : Out of the above, 04 vacancies have been reserved for Persons With Disability (PWD) out of which 02 vacancies are reserved for Orthopedically Handicapped and 02 for Hearing Impaired and 20 vacancies have been reserved for Ex-servicemen under horizontal reservation.

2. Age Limit:
   1. UDC - Between 18-27 years as on 31-1-2012. The candidates should have been born between 1-2-1985 and 1-2-1994 (both the dates inclusive) (Relaxable for employees of the ESI Corporation and Government Servants up to 40 years in accordance with the instruction or orders issued by the Central Govt). Upper age limit is also relaxable to SC/ST/OBC/PWD/Ex-servicemen & other categories of persons as per rules/instructions of Govt of India i.e. 5 years for SC & ST, 3 years for OBC and 10 years for PWD and length service in Armed Forces plus 3 years in case of Ex servicemen candidates
   2. MTS - Between 18-25 years as on 31-1-2012. The candidate should have been born between 1-2-1987 and 1-2-1994 (both the dates inclusive) (Relaxable for employees of the ESI Corporation and Government Servants up to 40 years in accordance with the instruction or orders issued by the Central Govt). Upper age limit is also relaxable to SC/ST/OBC/PWD/Ex-servicemen & other categories of persons as per rules/instructions of Govt of India. 3. Essential Qualification

   Application Fee has to be deposited in any of the branches of Union Bank of India, A/c No. 422301010037579, through Challan (in triplicate) which can be downloaded from the link provided in website www.esicgujarat.org. The applicants are required to enclose ESIC copy of Challan duly receipted by the Bank authorities along with application form.
   
   OR
   
   Application fee can also be paid through Demand Draft/Banker's Cheque drawn on any Nationalized Bank in favour of The Regional Director, ESI Corporation, Ahmedabad, payable at Ahmedabad. The candidate should write his name & address on the backside of the Demand Draft/Banker’s Cheque.
   
   Fee paid by any other mode or Demand Draft/Banker’s Cheque payable at any place, other than Ahmedabad will not be accepted.
   
   The system generated hard copy of Online Application duly signed by the Candidate along with ESIC copy of Challan of the application fee paid in Union Bank of India or the Demand Draft of any Nationalized Bank (wherever applicable), received within the stipulated time shall only be considered as a valid application for the post advertised.
3. Scheme of Examination:-

1. i.            Multiple Choice Objective Type Paper (Part-I) for UDC & MTS Both

   NB:- There will be negative marking i.e, 0.25 marks to be deducted for every wrong answer to eliminate the element of chance.
2. iii.            Scheme of Part-II Computer Skill Test and Syllabus for U.D.C.
   
   The candidates will have to appear for Computer Skill Test either in English or in Hindi language, as such they are advised to opt for the medium of examination carefully for Computer Skill Test in the application form. The Computer Skill Test shall comprise following three parts:
   
   Part A -Preparation of two Power Points Presentations/Slides on MS-Power Points- 10 marks.
   Part B -Typing a letter/passage/paragraph of about 150-200 words in MS-Word- 20 marks.
   Part C -Preparation of Table/Database in MS-Excel-20 marks.
   
   The total marks of the Computer Skill Test shall be 50 (Fifty) with duration of 30 minutes for completing all the three parts. The candidates shall be given the text/matter in the Question Paper which they have to type/reproduce in the Answer Sheet including formatting of text and use of formulae etc. as per instruction given in the Question Paper.

1. Mode of Selection
   
   For UDC: The Selection for the post of UDC will be made on the basis of performance in written test (Part – I Objective Type) followed by Computer Skill Test for the candidates shortlisted on the basis of their performance in the written test (Part – I). The Corporation reserves the right to admit only such number of candidates as are considered necessary by it for Computer Skill Test, based on the performance of candidates in Part-I written test.
   
   MTS: The Selection for the post of MTS will be made on the basis of written test only.
2. Probable date of written examination/Computer Skill Test:
   The probable date of written examination for the post of UDC is 01-04-2012 (Sunday) and for the post of MTS is 29-04-2012 (Sunday).
   
   Probable date for Computer Skill Test for the post of UDC is 17-06-2012 (Sunday).
   
   However, the applicants may log on to website www.esicgujarat.org to find out actual date of examination. The applicants should provide the valid email IDs and mobile numbers for communication purpose in the online application form.
3. HOW TO APPLY:
   
   The intending applicant should follow the following steps -

.            Confirm the eligibility for the post applied for as per advertisement.

1. a.            Download the challan for payment of fees (wherever applicable) from the link provided in the site.
2. b.            On depositing the requisite fees & bankers' charges as provided in the Challan the applicant is required to register himself ONLINE.
3. c.            After successful registration take a print out of the application form with the UNIQUE REGISTRATION NO.
4. d.            Append signature in full and with clear thumb impression in the space provided in the application and send the same along with required documents in a cover superscribing “Application for the Post of “UDC-2012 or MTS-2012” by Regd post/Speed Post so as to reach at the following address by closing date 07.02.2012 upto 6.15 PM.

1. The following documents should be attached with the print-out of application form:-

.            Upper Division Clerk:- The system generated hard copy of Online Application duly signed by the applicant and thumb impression of the applicant appended in the space specified with recent colour photograph attested by a Group ‘A’ or Group ‘B’ Gazetted Officer pasted in the space provided in the application along with ESIC copy of Challan of Union Bank of India or Demand Draft / Banker’s Cheque. No other documents are to be attached at this stage. Application along with copies of all the testimonials shall be called from the successful candidates at the time of Computer Skill Test.

The system generated hard copy of Online Application duly signed by the applicant and thumb impression of the applicant appended in the space specified with recent colour photograph attested by a Group ‘A’ or Group ‘B’ Gazetted Officer pasted in the space provided in the application along with ESIC copy of Challan of Union Bank of India or Demand Draft / Banker’s Cheque, attested copies of certificates in support of proof of age, date of birth, educational qualification etc. and copy of certificate in support of belonging to SC/ST/OBC/PWD/Ex-servicemen category wherever applicable.
   
   Those applicants who are employed in Govt./Semi Govt./Autonomous bodies etc. should send the applications through “Proper Channel”. However, they may send an advance copy of their application along with challan of application fee or Demand Draft and other certificates and testimonials (wherever applicable), so as to reach designated address on or before the closing date.

For Applicants from Assam, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Mizoram, Manipur, Nagaland, Tripura, Sikkim, Ladakh Division of Jammu & Kashmir, Lahul & Spiti Dist. & Pangi Sub-Division of Chamba Dist. in Himachal Pradesh, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Lakshadweep by 10.02.2012, 6:15 p.m.

1. GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS :

.            (a) One should submit only one application for one post. They may apply separately for more than one post. Candidates who are applying for more than one post has to submit application fee separately if applicable. Submission of more than one application for the same post may lead to rejection of all the applications submitted for the post applied for.

1. a.            The candidate selected / appointed shall be liable to be posted anywhere in Gujarat.
2. b.            Mere submission of application does not confer any right to be called for examination.
3. c.            Application with unique number obtained after on-line registration from the website after completing the Registration process will only be accepted with:-
4. d.            Digital Colour photograph not older than 3 (Three) months. The identical photograph should be used in the subsequent process of selection.
   1. Clear Thumb Impression on the print out of the application form.
   2. Full Signature in running hand, block letters not to be used.
   3. e.            Incomplete / unsigned applications and applications received without fee, photographs will be summarily rejected. In case of post of MTS certified copies of the required certificates such as educational qualifications, caste, community certificates etc. are also to be enclosed and application without supporting documents or received after last date for receipt of application, will summarily be rejected without any communication to the applicant.
5. f.            No TA/DA will be paid to any candidate including SC/ST candidates for appearing in the written test.
6. g.            Wrong declaration/submission of false information or any other action contrary to law shall lead to cancellation of the candidature at any stage.
7. h.            Fee once paid will not be refunded under any circumstances.
8. i.            Application fee should be deposited in any branch of Union Bank of India through specified Challan given on the website. The candidates desirous of paying the application fee through Demand Draft/Banker’s Cheque should obtain the same, only after the date of advertisement. The Demand Draft/Banker’s cheque should be drawn in favour of the Regional Director, ESI Corporation Ahmedabad, payable at Ahmedabad only. Fee paid by any other mode except as stated above, will not be accepted. Demand Draft / Banker’s Cheque should not be tagged/stapled, instead, it should be pinned/clipped at the top of the application form.
9. j.            Applicants paying the fee in Union Bank of India are advised to confirm before leaving the counters of the Bank that the copy of Challan of application fee contains the Transaction No., Date of Deposit and Branch Code. Transaction No. must be mentioned in his online application.
10. k.            For the facility of candidates, specimen of caste certificate has been uploaded on the website. The caste certificate should be submitted,(wherever applicable) in the prescribed format signed by prescribed Authority only.

CAUTION: CANVASSING IN ANY FORM WILL BE A DISQUALIFICATION AND SHALL LEAD TO CANCELLATION OF THE CANDIDATURE.
